Repairs and gunsmithing

A workshop behind the shop, run by someone who fixes his own competition rifles between matches. Bring the rifle and your certificate and we will look at it while you wait.

How it goes.

  1. Bring it in

The rifle, your certificate, and a description of what it is doing. A target with the group on it helps more than you would think.

  2. We look at it on the bench

Most faults show up in a few minutes. You get a diagnosis and a quote on the spot, and we only start if you say yes.

  3. Fixed, tested, returned

Anything that affects zero goes upstairs on the range before it comes back to you. You get a note of what was done.

Questions

What do you actually do?
Trigger fitting and adjustment, scope mounting and levelling, barrel threading for brakes and moderators, chassis and stock fitting, bolt and extractor work, headspace checks, cleaning and servicing, and the odd thing nobody else will touch.
How long does it take?
Small jobs while you wait. Threading and bedding a few days. Anything needing parts from the US, two to three weeks, and we tell you before you leave.
Do I need an appointment?
Ring first so the bench is free. Walk-ins on Monday, Wednesday and Friday are usually fine.
