RFD transfers
Every firearm that changes hands between two people has to pass through a registered dealer's books. We are the dealer for north Cornwall and west Devon, and the process takes ten minutes if you bring the right paperwork.
How it goes.
Tell us what is coming
The make, calibre and serial number, and who is sending it. If it is a private sale, the seller posts it to us or drops it in; if it is a dealer, they send it dealer to dealer.
It arrives, we check it
We book it into the register, check your certificate has the slot, and ring you. Nothing leaves without the original certificate in front of us.
You collect
Ten minutes at the counter. We write the sale onto your certificate, you sign the register, and it is yours. Sending a gun out works the same way in reverse.

- How much does a transfer cost?
- Ask when you book. It depends on whether we are receiving, sending, or both, and we tell you the figure before anything moves.
- Can I use you for a GunTrader purchase?
- Yes. Give the seller our details and we will deal with the paperwork at both ends.
- Do you do shotguns as well as rifles?
- Yes. Section 1 and Section 2, and air rifles bought at a distance, which by law have to be handed over face to face.
